Front Porch Review
Elizabeth Bernays grew up in Australia, became a British Government Scientist in London, and then a Professor of Entomology at the University of California Berkeley. From there she was appointed Regents’ Professor at the University of Arizona where she also obtained an MFA in Creative Writing. She has published fifty nonfiction stories and several poems in literary magazines (four of which won awards) and in 2020 her book, “Six Legs Walking,” (about her entomological career) won the 2020 Arizona/New Mexico Book Award for memoir. “Across the Divide: The Strangest Love Affair” is her new memoir, recently published and with great reviews. She also takes time to photograph the environment where she lives in Tucson, focusing on architecture, natural history, and anything weird.
